As we reached the beach, we threw our foot wears aside and got in with the heavy sea waves.
The very first touch of the cool and chilling water excited us much more and more. It’s 3 in the evening I and my friends stood their playing and enjoying the calm waves. There was laughter and enjoyment all around. This beach was famous for the beautiful sunset so, I guessed most of us were here to witness the sunset. There are many tales told to us by our grandparents about the beautiful pink sky. It is said that when the sun sets the whole atmosphere here become so pretty that we get in love with it. Ever since then, as a kid we wished to come and relive the tales of the beautiful sunset….Still an hour left for
the sunset we looked around and found a place where we could settle ourselves,
the top rock view, we got some candy-floss, ice-cream, and some peanuts to enjoy
witnessing the onshore breeze and the waves from the top view. The beach
extended to quiet a long distance and it was crowded with different people.
There were people crowded around the vendors, some flying kites, some on
shores-stirring the waves, some getting into the water and challenging the
waves, some busy making sand castles, kids holding hands of parents and getting
into the water amid their fears. It’s such a pleasant and fun loving sight.
All of a sudden I was
taken aback by a terrific experience, when I saw this 3 year old kid caught
under the waves, the way she overcomed the waves with a smiling face and with the strong-hold comfort of her dad. All these happened within a fraction of
seconds I could feel my eyes popped up, heart beating faster and mind restless
with a thought that what would have happened to the whole scenario if the situation was not at all favorable? That's what journey with life is all about- Sometimes unexpected things crosses our
paths and leaves behind with a thought
that there is a time for everything .As I was busy watching the kid get back with
the crowd, my friends got down into the waves again.
The SUNSET moment was
worth waiting. The dark red sun in the reddish sky, the sweet red atmosphere
with flock of seabirds flying back home and the perfect reflection on the sea
of this beautiful SUNSET moment was worth witnessing. The
dawn getting darker, the breeze getting
cooler, the waves getting stronger, crowd heading back homes, vendors closing down but my friends still with the waves - living the whole fun today itself and I enjoyed watching them and capturing the
darkness from the top rock view …….
That’s when I saw him
running down the rock with high speed and settling himself in midst of castles
built by the kids. He was tall and strong man in black t-shirt. From the time
he came he was just stirring at the waves. He took my attention but from this
distance I can’t capture him in my eyes due to darkness. My curious mind took
me to him, as I was walking towards him my thoughts were fighting in dilemma whether
it’s my concern to go and talk with a stranger or just leave the thoughts
behind the shades of darkness.
So to answer my curious
mind I went to him to know about him and asked if he could help me with his cell
phone, as my cell phone was out of charge. But to my utter dismay he doesn’t
own a cell phone. I was surprised, a youngster without cell phone that too at this century, I became more
curious to know him. I introduced myself. “Hi am RI….”and my cell phone rang. I
was embarrassed in front of him and realizing what I said was a lie he just
gave me a terrified look and with a matter of time he vanished in dark. I could
see him running with high speed to the opposite side. As I was attending the
call, two of the policemen came next to me and enquired who I am and what I am
doing here. As I was about to answer my friends joined me back, when they saw me
being question by the policemen. The policemen also enquired about a tall and
healthy man in black running down the rocks. I was mesmerized when the
policeman expressed- He was an unidentified wanted criminal, who had just
invaded the antique kings’ diamond from the nearby museum and ran down to the
nearest beach so that he could get in with the crowd and left unidentified again.
The policeman asked “isn’t it time for u guys to go home, go home soon!!” We
collected our footwear’s and left the beach. As we were driving back home the
curiosity that the man left behind in my mind was being slowly answered by the
words of policemen.
I had no idea who he was,
from where he was but I had an idea of what he had done. So I started following
the theft case. Days passed by, I was
getting to much involved with the case that now my curious mind just wanted to
meet him once again . A week later the news headlines caught my eye “The antique
kings diamond Thief found”. The photo in the news paper took me to the police
station where he was arrested. But the policemen didn’t allow me /// why would
they even allow me to meet a criminal? Instead I am getting involved with an unnecessary
issue, an issue which should not even be a part of my botheration.
As I stepped out the police
station I saw him, it was the same man whom I saw in the beach and the police
caught some other man as the criminal. As he saw me he lowered down his
umbrella and got vanished away in the rain though I followed him for quiet a
distance he vanished away in midst of other umbrellas with heavy rains
like the stone thrown into the valley.
